It’s been a long time since I wanted to get into the 'Out of Office' mode and was looking for something luxurious and relaxing to try out for a day.... So, I did exactly that.I booked a day package at Outrigger Mauritius which is located in the wild, southern coastal region of the island and; today, I’m sharing exactly how my day went—and why you should absolutely try this day package for yourself.

Our day began at 10 am; we had a warm welcome in the sophisticated lobby with a succulent lemon grass juice by the hotel personnel. It was refreshing and tasty.

As we were exploring the resort, we were instantly awed by the hotel architecture which is, inspired by 17th century plantation style estate. Walking further, we saw the massive beachfront pool. That pool and the sea blended together perfectly and it was simply stunning. We decided to chill out for sometime at the Lebleu restaurant which is next to the pool and enjoyed the unlimited drink that was included in the package, I personally had a preference for the blue breeze which is a non alcoholic blue gradient drink.

The day package also included water activities such as kayak or paddle but we decided to opt out due to the windy weather and our lack of familiarity with aquatic activities and that was totally fine for us. However, we took advantage of that there was a Sega theme aquagym session and we took part in for about 30 minutes to compensate for the mentioned water activities.

All those activities were followed by a 3-course a la lunch at Edgewater and there. We had again a warm welcome, and good recommendations regarding our meals.

The talk with the restaurant manager, the meal the breathtaking sea view really reminds us of the authenticity of Mauritius and the Mauritian hospitality. Menu includes a wide range of seafood, salad, pasta dessert and drinks.

After the meal, we went for a swim at the beach and at 3.30pm we had our tea break.

Since it was on Independence Day (12 March 2026), we received Mauritian flag colored cakes and ‘bajiachaud’ and chutney.

We finished the day with a last dip in the pool and went home with a warm goodbye from the hotel personnel

So, if you are looking for a day escape and love everything from cocktails, gastronomy food, and the beachy vibes, I must say that outrigger Mauritius is a top tier contender! I would rate it a 5 for hospitality, service, food and beverage, activities, value for money for the day package.
